How to make a sandwich
Find a piece of land, for a start
Plant a seed, wait for it to grow
Once grown, cut it off, all apart
Find a miller, do a favour
Ask for return, to do what he knows
Rye and wheat, mix the flavour
Build an oven, and a well
Bake the bread, be careful
Find a baker and listen well
Once done the bread, the next grade:
Find a cow, milk it alright
Then take it to a place where meat is made
Find a ship, sail long and far
To find cucumber, tomatoes, salad
Come back with pickles in a jar
Start with bread, end with bread
What’s in between, you know
You are allowed to use your head
A tale about whales
She was a girl
a girl with a dream
To make it big
like Persian ice
cream
She left for the world
That’s all she knew
With a key in her
hand
and some bread to chew
Without a talent
Without a doubt
She went full on
and searched the
crowd
Came the moment
no wonder why
She took the leap
and made it rhyme
She wrote the stories
Told the tales
About everything
except for whales
Life took her places
She’d never known
And showed her things
none ever shown
It was nothing like
The life she’d loved
In time before
She was discovered
They took her hand
They took her soul
Then left her alone
Right on the mold
And without a scream
She held her breath
As the world
swallowed
Her while ahead
